A low-cost Pattaya transport plan without relying on taxis every day

Pattaya becomes much cheaper when your accommodation sits on a useful shared songthaew route and near the places you use most. Map your likely supermarket, market, clinic and social trips before choosing a room. Saving rent far outside your normal route can be wiped out by repeated app-taxi journeys. Shared songthaews and privately hired songthaews are different services. On a shared route, follow the displayed route and fare information. If you ask a driver to leave the route or take you to a specific address, agree the complete charter price before getting in. Keep small notes and coins so a short shared journey does not become an awkward change problem. Walking is practical for short errands, but road crossings, heat and heavy rain matter. Try your intended route at the time you would normally travel. If you rent a motorcycle, compare the real monthly total: rent, fuel, helmet, deposit, insurance position and potential damage charges.
